About Flake Flooring

A full-broadcast flake floor is the most popular residential garage system we install. Decorative vinyl flakes are broadcast to refusal into a pigmented base coat, then scraped, vacuumed and locked in under a clear polyaspartic topcoat. The result hides imperfections, adds texture underfoot and stands up to hot tires, salt and dropped tools.

What's included

  • Hides minor slab imperfections better than any other system
  • Naturally slip-resistant texture
  • Dozens of flake blends and custom blends available
  • Fast return to service compared with traditional multi-day epoxy builds

The installation, step by step

  1. 1. Surface preparation

Diamond grinding of the entire slab to open the concrete profile, plus edge grinding along walls and door lines. Dust is captured with HEPA vacuum extraction.

  2. 2. Crack & joint repair

Cracks, spalls and pitting are routed out and filled with a structural repair material, then re-ground flush with the slab.

  3. 3. Pigmented base coat

A colored base coat is rolled and back-rolled at spec thickness so the flake has a consistent bed to lock into.

  4. 4. Flake broadcast

Vinyl flakes are broadcast to refusal — the floor is fully saturated so no base color shows through.

  5. 5. Scrape & vacuum

Once cured, loose flake is scraped down and vacuumed off, leaving a uniform, smooth profile ready for topcoat.

  6. 6. Polyaspartic topcoat

One or two clear polyaspartic coats seal the flake, add gloss and provide the wear layer. Anti-slip additive available.
