How much does epoxy flooring cost?

Cost depends on square footage, the condition of your existing concrete and the system you choose. A small garage with sound concrete and a straightforward flake system prices very differently than a spalled shop floor that needs an old coating removed. How long does installation take?

Most residential garages are a one to two day install. Larger commercial floors, heavy repairs or old coating removal add time. Your written quote includes the expected schedule.

How long before I can park on the floor?

With a polyaspartic topcoat, foot traffic is typically about 24 hours after the final coat and vehicle traffic a few days after. Exact times depend on temperature and humidity, and we give you the specific times for your job in writing.

How durable is epoxy?

A properly prepared and correctly installed system handles vehicle traffic, dropped tools, road salt, oil and regular cleaning. Durability comes far more from preparation and product selection than from the color you pick.

Does epoxy peel?

Coatings peel when they are installed over unprepared, sealed or contaminated concrete — most commonly acid-etched or roll-on kit floors. Mechanical diamond grinding gives the coating a profile to bond into, which is why we grind every floor.

Do you repair cracks?

Yes. Cracks, control joints, spalls and pitting are routed out and filled with repair materials, then ground flush before coating. Note that repairs are cosmetic and structural at the surface — they do not stop a slab from moving.

Do you grind the concrete?

Always. Every floor is mechanically diamond ground with HEPA dust extraction, including hand grinding at edges and door lines. We do not acid etch.

Can epoxy be installed over old coatings?

Usually the old coating has to come off. We test adhesion during the estimate; if the existing coating is failing, it is ground off and that removal is priced into the quote.

Is epoxy UV resistant?

Standard epoxy is not UV stable and can amber in direct sunlight. That is one reason we top most systems with a UV-stable polyaspartic or urethane clear coat, which is what you want for sun-exposed garages and patios.

What is the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?

Epoxy is a thick, high-build resin that bonds and levels well, used as the body of the system. Polyaspartic is a fast-curing, UV-stable polyurea used as the wear layer on top. Most of our floors use both: epoxy below, polyaspartic above.

Service life depends on preparation, the system installed and how hard the floor is used. Properly prepared residential garage systems commonly serve many years with basic cleaning. We will give you a realistic expectation for your specific space rather than a marketing number.

Yes. Flake blends, metallic color combinations and solid colors are all selectable, and we can build custom blends. You choose from physical samples before we order material.
